Chronology of cameras Lumiere
The Lumière 6.5 x 11 cameras are post-war models, following the design of the 1930s Lumirex cameras of the same format. Despite a format that was becoming less popular, they were featured in catalogs from 1952 to 1959. These cameras are well-finished with polished trimmings. The scissor struts were slightly modified compared to those of the Lumirex, likely for more efficient operation when opening the front panel.
The shutter release is located on the side of the front panel and is connected to the shutter through a mechanism that diagonally traverses the interior of the front panel. The stand design is reminiscent of that used on the Lumirex models but is not perforated.
The shutter, presumably manufactured by SITO, offers slow speeds and 1/300. It features pre-cocking, a self-timer, and a flash synchronization socket.
The lens used is an f/4.5 lens, either a Berthiot or a Boyer Topaz, both of which were treated.
These cameras could be used with either 116 or 616 film.
Don de Michel Trujillo, que je remercie chaleureusement
Cet exemplaire a un très beau Berthiot.
